Hopkins Brothers have significant experience in the fields of earthmoving, transport and the supply of quarry products and landscaping materials.  These are some of our recent major projects:

PRE-QUALIFIED SUPPLIER — ROCKHAMPTON REGIONAL COUNCIL

Description

Pre-qualified supplier of Plant & Equipment to RRC.
Pre-qualified supplier of Quarry & Landscaping Materials to RRC.
Hopkins Brothers worked with two full crews for several months cleaning up after
Cyclone Marcia as part of the recovery works.

AUSTRALIA-SINGAPORE MILITARY TRAINING INITIATIVE FACILITIES PROJECT (ASMTI) SHOALWATER BAY

Description

Hopkins Brothers Established and operated two complete quarries in the Shoalwater Bay Military Training area with certified weigh bridges to supply and deliver in excess of 1,200,000 tonnes of material for road constructions, hard stands and flood protection works.

CAPRICORN HIGHWAY DUPLICATION, ROCKHAMPTON-GRACEMERE

Description

Hopkins Brothers supplied and delivered of over 140,000 tonnes of TMR certified quarry materials including Road Base and Class A1 Fill.

Included in the supply of materials was over 35,000 tonnes of Type 2.1 Road Base Cement Treated (LBB at 1.3% cement) using our new Aztec KPI JCI Model 52S Portable Pugmill Plant.

BRUCE HIGHWAY SAFETY UPGRADES SIX MILE CREEK-GAVIAL CREEK PROJECT

Description

Hopkins Brothers supplied 200,000 tonnes of TMR certified quarry materials (C Class, Road Base, Flood Rock & Precoated Aggregates), float services for machine movements and two water tankers for the entirety of the project.

RAIL NETWORK FLOOD RECOVERY WORKS — BLACK MOUNTAIN GOONYELLA – HAY POINT SYSTEM

Description

The Goonyella System of the CQ Coal Network was damaged by Tropical Cyclone Debbie in 2017. Hopkins Brothers provided specialized earthworks and rail infrastructure repairs to damage caused by washouts and landslips at Black Mountain. The line was re-opened to coal trains in eight days. We also assisted in stabilisation of washouts and landslips for several weeks there after.

BRUCE HIGHWAY RECONSTRUCTION, WIDENING AND UPGRADE BAJOOL-MIDGEE PROJECT

Description

Hopkins Brothers supplied TMR certified road base materials, transportation services, earthmoving and plant hire for the reconstruction, widening and intersection upgrades to 9.5km of the Bruce Highway, south of Rockhampton.

MAJOR TOPSOIL PROJECT — KERSHAW GARDENS REDEVELOPMENT

Description

Kershaw Gardens suffered significant damage as a result of Tropical Cyclone Marcia in February 2015. Following an extensive clean up, Rockhampton Regional Council commenced a complete redevelopment in 2016. Hopkins Brothers supplied and delivered over 16,500 tonnes of quality topsoil to develop this much-loved community facility.

BRIDGE WORKS — YEPPEN SOUTH PROJECT

Description

The Yeppen South project flood proofed the Bruce Highway at the southern entrance to Rockhampton. Hopkins Brothers undertook rock protection works and bridge works, supplying rock filter material, shot rock and access materials for bridge construction works.

ROCKLANDS TO STANWELL RAIL DUPLICATION PROJECT

Description

This major project involved the construction of access roads, drainage infrastructure and 18km of railway line duplication between Rocklands and Stanwell. Hopkins Brothers provided extensive earthmoving services, machine hire, float services and water tankers. We also supplied 350,000 tonnes of Aurizon accredited quarry products (C Class, Shot Rock, Road Base, Capping Material and Flood Rock).
